Stellar has played a crucial role in the completion of UF Health Durbin Park, a significant 42.5-acre health and wellness campus located in St. Johns County, Florida. This development is a key component in expanding access to advanced medical services throughout Northeast Florida.
The first phase of this project includes a three-story, 72,000-square-foot medical office building and a five-story, 220,000-square-foot hospital situated within the growing Durbin Park community. The medical office building, known as UF Health Durbin Park Medical Office Building 1, consolidates various specialty services, including general surgery, gynecology, heart and vascular care, laboratory services, neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, outpatient rehabilitation, pain management, and urology. Stellar served as the primary construction manager for this phase, while Gresham Smith was responsible for the design.
Adjacent to the medical office building, UF Health Durbin Park Hospital offers 99 inpatient beds and a 24-hour emergency department. This facility is equipped to provide acute, intensive, and emergency care, with operating rooms, advanced imaging capabilities, and hybrid laboratories for interventional procedures. Stellar managed the project through a joint venture with Batson-Cook Construction, and also oversaw the construction of a standalone central energy plant providing critical infrastructure for the campus.
The first phase of UF Health Durbin Park is part of a broader $1 billion investment by UF Health, which is anticipated to create approximately 2,000 jobs and expand healthcare services for the rapidly growing populations of St. Johns County and Jacksonville.
This project further extends Stellar’s involvement in major healthcare construction initiatives and strengthens its partnership with UF Health, highlighting its commitment to supporting the development of essential medical facilities in the region.
